Honours: Tsirk was shortlisted for 'Best Newcomer' at Grierson Awards 2010. It was an official selection at the Sheffield International Docfest (2009) and at the London Russian Film Festival, the British Council Film Festival Moscow, and the VGIK International Student Film Festival.

Synopsis: In Tsirk, student clown Alexei is our guide to the State School for Circus and Variety Arts, in Moscow. It's a shabby relic of a vast Soviet circus system instituted to entertain the masses and spread propaganda. While Alexei hones his pratfalls, the committed and underpaid staff remember better, but less free, days.
